Transport for London

Another collaboration with paper guru Helen Musselwhite...

Helen was commissioned to create this city scene and keyhole to celebrate London Underground's 70th stop-free station. And I was brought in to bring the artwork to life.

We shot the keyhole first to give us something to overlay over the scene to aid composition. All the buildings Helen crafted were separate, so we had maximum flexibility when adjusting the scene so it worked when viewed through the keyhole.

The card Helen used for the foreground and keyhole was grey, but this was always likely to be changed to another colour. After trialling a few different shades and some back-and-forth with VCCP a navy blue was settled on, but I still think the original grey looks rather handsome.
